The 7.62 mm SV-98 sniper rifle was designed as a precision weapon for the Russian military and law enforcement snipers to engage enemy personnel at ranges up to 1,000 meters.
The rifle is highly accurate when using special 7N1 and 7N14 sniper cartridges thanks to a free-floating barrel with an optional sound and flash suppressor.
The rifle can use the full range of 7.62x54R rounds.
The SV-98 is highly ergonomic rifle, which has an aluminum alloy stock, a polymer pistol grip and a buttstock with adjustable cheek riser, heel and support post.
Scopes can be installed using a Picatinny rail on the receiver.
The rifle also has backup iron sights.
