The vessel is designed for pilotage operations in coastal marine areas, such as:
- installation and removal of floating navigational aids of all types;
- maintenance and repair of shore-based and floating navigational aids;
- surveying and bottom-charting for developing nautical charts;
- delivering supplies (equipment, firewood, coal, food) to unequipped coasts to support hydrographic units.
