100 years of Red Army: TT pistol

The USSR started the development of a new automatic pistol to replace the obsolete Nagant revolver in the mid-1920s. In 1930, Fyodor Tokarev won the contest with his TT, or Tula-Tokarev, pistol. In 1933, this pistol underwent a slight modernization and was then manufactured by the USSR until the early 1950s. This powerful 8-round pistol was used by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and then by the Soviet army until the late 1950s. After the war, it was manufactured in Hungary, Poland, China and Yugoslavia under Soviet license.
