The Tynys plant, one of the largest industrial enterprises of Akmola region (Kazakhstan), will launch the production of AK-12 and AK-15 assault rifles.


	 The project has been in preparation since 2021 with active participation of technical specialists of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies.


	 Joint poduction will be launched in 2022 and will meet the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan in modern automatic rifles of the "Ratnik" family.


	 Earlier in 2021, in New Delhi a contract was signed to supply the Ministry of Defense of India with more than 600,000 AK-203 assault rifles produced at a joint Russian-Indian production facility in the city of Korwa (Uttar Pradesh, India) as part of the meeting of the Ministers of Defense of Russia and India.

A large quantity of AK machine guns was produced on an expedited basis at the Concern Kalashnikov JSC site for foreign customers from the Asia-Pacific region (APR) under a contract concluded by Rosoboronexport JSC.


	 In 2021, the group of companies increased the production of military products for export by more than 70% compared to 2020. Kalashnikov automatic rifles of one hundred and two hundred series, "Ratnik" Kalashnikov assault rifles, various types of high-precision weapons are among the main export products.


	 "Military and civilian products under the "Kalashnikov" brand are shipped to 27 countries. Foreign customers traditionally highly value our products' reliability and technical characteristics. The upward trend of military products export, despite difficult work conditions like the pandemic and sanctions is a clear confirmation of this", said Vladimir Lepin, CEO of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies.


	 Also last year, during the official visit to India of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a key contract was signed between the Ministry of Defense of India and the Indo-Russia Rifles Private Limited joint venture for the supply of AK-203 automatic rifles, which will be produced in India with the technical assistance of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies.

The KUB-E weapon system with guided munition has received export permits, which allows it to be promoted abroad.


	 "The Group of Companies in collaboration with Rosoboronexport JSC is ready to promote the “KUB” UAV on the international market, including during intergovernmental commissions and international exhibitions. It should be noted that this drone has already been successfully utilized in combat so its effectiveness has been confirmed in real conditions", said the press service of Kalashnikov Group of Companies.


	 KUB-E barrage munition was developed by Zala Aero (part of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies) and it successfully passed state tests in November 2021. In 2022, its serial supply to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is planned.


	 "Today there are little drones with similar weight and dimensions on the world market. The size of the KUB is 1210*950*165 mm, while it can carry up to 3 kg of a payload", – noted "Kalashnikov".


	 KUBs can be used to destroy infrastructure, enemy manpower, as well as lightly armored targets. KUB is silent and develops speeds up to 130 km/h thanks to an electric motor unit and can spend up to 30 minutes in flight.


	 The interest of foreign customers during the first public demonstration at the international IDEX-2019 exhibition in Abu Dhabi proves that KUBs will be in high demand in the world market.

The Kalashnikov Concern timely fulfilled its obligations to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to manufacture and supply AK-12 assault rifles in 2021.


	 We are talking about a long-term contract for the supply of AK-12 assault rifles, signed at the ARMIA-2021 International Military-Technical Forum.


	 "The timely fulfillment of the contract for the supply of AK-12 assault rifles to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is top priority for us. Despite the persisting restrictions associated with the difficult epidemiological situation, it was especially important to maintain the efficiency and fast&nbsp;pace of work", said Vladimir Lepin, CEO of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies.


	 This year, Kalashnikov Concern JSC produced several tens of thousands of modern AK-12 assault rifles under the state defense order.


	 Thanks to the efficient process management, coordinated team work, and high responsibility demonstrated by the employees of the concern, several tens of thousands of AK-12s were produced on time and with the proper quality.

Kalashnikov Group participated in the Made in Russia International Export Forum at the Russian Export Center in Moscow. The Group's booth displayed export-oriented civilian products by Kalashnikov's enterprises, including drones, models of vessels, and toolmaking products.


	 The Group's shipbuilding capacity was represented by models of vessels produced by Rybinsk and Nobel Brothers shipyards. Khaska 10 is a multipurpose flexible-skeg transport hovercraft capable of reaching 40 knots on any surface, be it water, ice, snow or land. The Project T30B small fishing trawler is designed for coastal trawl fishing.


	 With support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Concern Kalashnikov has developed ball screw drives fully capable of replacing imported analogs.


	 Unmanned systems by ZALA AERO, already in use worldwide for border protection, industrial infrastructure monitoring, security control and other tasks, were a hit among the forum visitors. All models can be outfitted with additional equipment such as cameras, thermal imagers, etc. The drones, lightweight but with an impressive load capacity, are quick and easy to launch.


	 An unmanned aerial vehicle for geological prospecting by ZALA AERO was demonstrated to the official guests of the forum, the Prime Minister of Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin and the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić, at the booth of Rosgeologiya JSC.


	 The drone's range is up to 1,000 km. It is much more cost-efficient than a helicopter or a plane, and can be used in areas where traditional methods of geological prospecting are hard to apply.

Today on December 6, the Russian and Indian defense ministers signed a contract at a meeting in New Delhi. The contract stipulates the production of over 600,000 AK-203 assault rifles in India to be used by the Indian Ministry of Defence.&nbsp;


	 In 2019, an intergovernmental agreement on joint Russian-Indian production of the Kalashnikov 200-series assault rifles was signed. The factory in Korwa (Uttar Pradesh) was inaugurated by Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of India. Later on, production will be fully localized in India, which is an unprecedented step in line with the Make in India initiative by the Government of India.&nbsp;


	 "Russian and Indian experts spent three years optimizing the price and technological aspects of the project before it started. Now that the contract has been signed, we are ready to start production of modern AK-203s in Korwa within the next few months," commented Vladimir Lepin, General Director of the Kalashnikov Group.


	 This joint enterprise, called Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited, certainly opens a new page in Russian-Indian military-industrial cooperation.

The 11 employees of Kalashnikov Concern and 3 employees of Izhevsk Mechanical Plant were featured on the 2020 list of scholarship recipients.


	 By Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1381 dated December 22, 2012 "On Scholarships for Employees of Defense Industry Organizations of the Russian Federation", Scholarships of the President of Russia are awarded for achievements in creation of breakthrough technologies and development of advanced weapon systems.


	 Potential scholarship recipients are selected by an expert council formed by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The pool includes those working under the Russian Ministry of Defense, Federal Space Agency, Rosatom State Corporation, Rostec State Corporation, federal executive authorities and leading industrial enterprises. The final list is approved by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.


	 Recipients of the scholarships were representatives of the Design and Technology Center, Chief Production Engineer Department, Weapons Production Division, Automation and Development Division, Toolmaking Division, and other divisions of Kalashnikov Group.


	 Despite the pandemic-related hardships of 2020, the development of components of a multifunctional mobile robotic weapon system was successfully completed, government trials of several production versions of the compact 9-mm PLK Lebedev pistol and the Kalashnikov PPK-20 submachine gun were carried out, and preliminary tests of the AK-19 and AK-308 rifles were conducted thanks to their work.

ZALA 421-16E HD fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles by ZALA AERO, member of Kalashnikov Group, will be used for monitoring of pipelines at the Samotlor field and the Northern group of fields developed by Samotlorneftegaz JSC.


	 The work will start in January 2022 and continue through 2024. The priority tasks include urgent evaluation of pipelines and detection of wrongdoing by third parties.


	 The ZALA 421-16E HD is capable of transmitting video in HD and Full HD, providing services in charge with real-time visual information about the field. Purpose-designed software allows automatic recording of terrain changes at different time intervals.


	 The Samotlor field in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area is the largest field in Russia and one of the largest in the world.


	 Russia's first use of UAV's in the industry took place at this field, as the first trials of ZALA 421-04 UAV by ZALA AERO to control pipeline routes and power lines began in 2011.


	 ZALA's flight crews started industrial application of the UAVs at the field in 2014. Together with the employees of Samotlorneftegaz JSC, the company's personnel developed a system of round-the-clock monitoring of oil and gas extraction and transportation facilities using UAVs. The system proved effective and is still used today.


	 A special takeoff pad was arranged at the field to operate the ZALA UAVs, as well as a command and control center, a flight control center and a data transfer center. An auxiliary mobile group was organized to take images of remote objects in the Northern section of the Samotlor field.

Kalashnikov Group has successfully completed production and delivery of 9M333 anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMs) to the Russian Ministry of Defense under the State Defense Procurement Order.


	 The 9M333 SAM is used as part of the 9A34M3 and 9A35M3 anti-aircraft vehicles of the Strela-10M3 air defense system.


	 The missile is designed to engage low-passing aircraft and helicopters in any season, including with droppable, paradroppable, and modular optical countermeasure systems deployed, as well as UAVs and cruise missiles. The 9M333's target seeker device has three operation modes based on photo contrast, infrared beams and interference.


	 The missile is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 5,000 m, with the target's velocity of up to 679 m/s and flight altitudes from 10 to 3,500 m.


	 The product is manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern JSC. Its first public demonstration took place in 2020 at the Army 2020 International Military and Technical Forum.


	 In December 2020, the 9M333 SAM successfully passed qualification and flight trials, confirming full compliance with the customer's requirements. In October 2021, periodic flight trials were conducted, yielding positive results.
