At the Shooting Center, Sergey Shoygu was shown the new PPK-20 submachine gun, updated in accordance with the instructions he had given at ARMY 2020. In particular, the PPK-20 was redesigned for adding to the personal survival kits of military pilots. In addition to the PPK-20, military pilots suggested that the PLK pistol be included in the kits. The Minister praised the comprehensive approach to arming flight crews, as well as the fact that Kalashnikov fulfilled the order within a very short timeframe. The Minister stressed the need to solve the issue of arming pilots as soon as possible.

He also listened to a report on the successful completion of government trials of the SVCh rifle, developed on the Group's initiative as part of the Zhnets R&D program. The Concern's CEO Vladimir Lepin confirmed the readiness to start serial production of this rifle in 2022.

The Minister was shown the RPL-20 machine gun and the GPR-20 underbarrel grenade launcher prepared for preliminary tests, developed by the Concern under the Sotnik R&D program. The Minister ordered that work on these designs be to sped up due to high demand for them in the Armed Forces.

The Minister paid special attention to the intellectual targeting system proposed by the Kalashnikov Group to be included in the next-generation equipment kits for servicemen. "So you have done it! There have been talks of it for so many years. This is exactly the kit we ordered!"

The Minister then assessed the MRS, a modular load distribution system designed for special operations units. The system can be adjusted for performing tasks in different environments, accounting for the balance of area, class and weight of body armor, the volume and composition of combat kit and equipment, as well as the optimal balance of ergonomics and thermal regulation. The minister appreciated the innovative approach to providing for optimal weight redistribution.

The minister praised the new developments of the Kalashnikov group: "Well done! You proved you can do it! Thank you!" he noted.
