On Monday, October 4, a new school year began at the Kalashnikov Academy. The qualifying session was held from June to September. The students were tested, and then interviewed by future professors. Around 400 Izhevsk schoolchildren passed the tests and are now ready to for their studies at the Academy.
Together with the second year students, the Academy's enrolment amounts to 530 in six programs: Industrial Design, Information Technologies, Robotics, Mechatronics, and Artificial Intelligence.
Also this year, Space, a completely new program unique for Udmurtia, will appear. It is a joint project of Roscosmos State Corporation, Udmurtian Government and Kalashnikov Academy. Future aerospace engineers will study the basics of rocketry, satellite engineering, telemetry, remote sensing of the Earth, as well as fundamentals of space motion and celestial bodies.
The 2021/22 school year will be marked by full immersion of students into practical work on projects and intensified preparation for the All-Russian Olympiads.
Classes of each group will take place twice a week. Apart from fascinating classes, the Academy students will also be offered training and workshops in softskills development and career guidance, practical classes on modern equipment in the hi-tech shop, hackathons, entertaining, cognitive and athletic events, and many more.
