Russian army will be supplied 9M333 guided anti-aircraft missiles and the new AK-12 5.45-mm rifles produced by the Kalashnikov Group.
Aleksey Krivoruchko, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, and Vladimir Lepin, CEO of the Group, signed the documents to that end at the Army 2021 forum.
The AK-12 rifle is fully compliant with all the requirements to modern small arms. The ergonomics of the rifle has been significantly improved. It can be adapted to the body measurements and outfit of any given serviceman. The AK-12 also boasts improved performance in both single-shot and full-auto fire modes. An important advantage of the AK-12 is that it can be used effectively regardless of the time of day.
The 9M333 guided anti-aircraft missiles are designed to engage low-flying aircraft and helicopters, as well as drones and cruise missiles, regardless of visual disturbance. The missile has a multifunctional seeker device operating in infrared, photo contrast and interference selection modes.
